Born from the triumph of San Jose's Bugkusan Festival 2023, a testament to our rich cultural tapestry, the idea emerged: What if we elevate our champions to the illustrious Sinulog Festival in Cebu City?
​
This dream, however, faces a formidable hurdle: resources. Our hearts and minds are resolute, yet lacking in means. Turning to Congressman Alan 1 B. Ecleo, the Chairman Emeritus of Barug Dinagat Foundation, marked a turning point. With the foundation's endorsement and support from key stakeholders – the Office of Congressman Alan 1 B. Ecleo, LGU San Jose led by Mayor Yngwie Hero B. Ecleo, Don Jose Memorial College, 8427 Media & Advertising, and our very own Tribu Kamanting Performing Arts Guild – this dream now stands fortified.

This endeavor resonates deeply within us, uniting every participant and the entire Dinagatnon community. It's a crusade for dignity and identity reclamation. For too long, Dinagat Islands bore the brunt of misinformation and unjust portrayals. The Sinulog stage offers us a platform to authentically present ourselves, bursting with pride and grace, erasing the shadows of stigma cast upon us for decades. It's an opportunity to showcase our value, our essence, and our resilience.

As of December 2023, our performers are halfway through intense rehearsals, crafting intricate backdrops, props, and costumes. The logistics team tirelessly pieces everything together. With just one month remaining, there's still much to accomplish. Every bit of assistance, every helping hand, is invaluable to make this dream a reality.
